WHAT IS A TEMPORARY RESIDENCE CARD (TRC)?
Temporary Residence Card or TRC (Temporary Residence Card) is a type of long-term Visa for foreigners in Vietnam to carry out investment activities or work and live for a permitted period in Vietnam. The time of the temporary residence card is 1, 2, 3, or 5 years depending on the type.

➬ Circular No. 219/2016/TT-BTC dated November 10, 2016, of the Ministry of Finance, providing for the collection, payment, management, and use of fees and charges in the field of exit, entry, transit, and reside in Vietnam.
HOW CASE BE ISSUED A TEMPORARY RESIDENCE CARD (TRC) IN VIETNAM
➬ Foreigners who are members of diplomatic missions, consular offices, representative offices of international organizations under the United Nations, intergovernmental organizations in Vietnam and their spouses, children under 18 years of age, maids accompanied by term.
➬ Foreigners enter with visas with symbols LV1, LV2, LS, ĐT1, ĐT2, ĐT3, NN1, NN2, DH, PV1, LĐ1, LĐ2, TT.

WHO CAN OBTAIN VIETNAM TEMPORARY RESIDENCE CARD WITHOUT A WORK PERMIT
In general, to work and live in Vietnam legally in Vietnam, foreigners must successfully obtain the following necessary documents:
- Short-term Vietnam Business Visa.
- Vietnam Work Permit.
- Temporary Residence Card.
Nonetheless, those who do not have any work permit in Vietnam, still have a chance to obtain Vietnam Temporary Residence Card if they satisfy these requirements mentioned below:
1. Owner of a one-member limited liability company.
2. Professionals, students, and trainees working or studying in national programs and projects signed between the ministries and approved by the government.

DOCUMENTATION FOR A NEW TEMPORARY RESIDENCE CARD FOR FOREIGNERS IN VIETNAM
a) A written request for a temporary residence card (Form NA6 for agencies or organizations, Form NA7 for individuals).
b) Application form for temporary residence card for foreigners (Form NA8).
c) Papers proving eligibility to be considered for a temporary residence card are one of the following: work permit, certification of being the head of a representative office, a member of the Board of Directors, or other documents proving that still valid and eligible to do temporary residence card (TRC).
d) 02 photos of size 3×4 cm (01 photos glued to the declaration, 01 separate photos).
