The process of opening documents to sponsor spouses to the US under IR1
Step 1: The first step in the process is for the American citizen to apply to sponsor his or her relative (a foreigner) on form I-130 to the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). (Please contact Hotline: 0938165817 for instructions).
Step 2: Once the petition is approved, the documents will be sent to the National Visa Center (NVC). And this agency will send the request to the appropriate US embassy or consulate abroad (where the sponsored person resides) for further processing and review of the application.
